Moon Wall Experience

Camp Ocean | Carnival Glory

How do you inspire children to become curious about the moon? That question became the foundation for this NASA-inspired feature wall created for Camp Ocean aboard Carnival Glory as part of the Space Cruisers™ program in partnership with Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. The challenge was to combine educational video displays with an environment that encouraged children to stop, explore, and imagine.

I developed numerous design concepts, experimenting with different wall forms, moon placements, monitor layouts, and dimensional elements to create an engaging educational experience. Inspired by sculptural moon textures, my original vision was to create a tactile feature that children could touch and interact with. As the design evolved, the concept was refined to meet cruise ship material and safety requirements, resulting in an illuminated moon using official NASA imagery with three integrated video displays.

The final design remained true to its original purpose: to inspire curiosity, encourage learning, and bring the excitement of space exploration to life for children.
